Questions about caravan and camping sites
What is the difference between a caravan site and a camping site?
At Mission Beach Hideaway, caravan sites are powered (15 amp), with a concrete slab and TV connection, and some drive-through sites are available. Camping sites are shady and grassed, with or without power, and suit a tent among the tropical gardens. Guests on either kind of site have full access to the park facilities.
Why do you ask for my caravan’s internal length?
Mission Beach Hideaway asks for your caravan’s internal length so staff can allocate the right bay for your van. Include it when you book a caravan site, or give it to reception on (07) 4068 7104. Staff available 7:30 am to 11 pm, daily. To talk through your set-up before you book, contact the park.
How much do extra guests cost on a site?
Extra guests on a site at Mission Beach Hideaway cost $20 a night per extra adult and $10 a night per extra child aged 2 to 14, on top of the site rate. The same extra guest charges apply on caravan and camping sites. Site prices are for 2 people, with powered sites from $55 a night and unpowered sites from $45 a night in low season. Are there hot showers for campers?
Yes. Campers at Mission Beach Hideaway use the communal amenities, which have hot showers and laundry facilities. Cook in the fully equipped camp kitchen, which has a fridge, or at the BBQ areas throughout the park, and the pool, playground and games room are open to campers too. See every park facility.

Yes. Mission Beach Hideaway suits a stop on the drive between Cairns and Townsville. Mission Beach is about 2 hours south of Cairns and 2 hours north of Townsville. Caravan sites are powered, with concrete slabs, some drive-through sites are available, the dual high-speed EV charging station is on site and the tavern is next door. Check site availability.
